Redner's Eyeing New Stores in Maryland, Delaware

Redner’s Markets is poised to grow again. The Reading, PA based regional chain reportedly is close to finalizing deals for three new stores, all south of its Central PA headquarters.

Two of the new units would be located in Delaware and the other in Maryland. Redner’s is reportedly close to finalizing a deal to build a 48,000 square foot “from the ground up” unit in Camden, DE (just south of Dover). That store will complement Redner’s other “First State” unit in North Dover which opened in 2008 and has proven to be very successful. The retailer is also eyeing a site for a new store in Milford, DE, which would also be a “from the ground up” project.

In Maryland, Redner’s has a signed lease to open a new 58,000 square foot store in Essex.  Redner’s, which entered Maryland in 2005 when it opened its Elkton store, has agreed to take over the space of the old Ames department store on Country Ridge Lane. Redner’s other Maryland units are located in Bel Air and Joppatowne.
