Wawa Announces Changes to Support New Jersey Governor’s Orders for Essential Businesses

Updates Include Special Hours for High Risks Groups Announcedand Signage in Support of Mask Mandate

Wawa, PA  – Following the executive order issued by New Jersey Governor Murphy, effective April 10, Wawa will add prominent signage in all of its 255 New Jersey stores notifying customers that protective face masks or coverings are required when out in public and while shopping at an essential business. As part of thismandate, all New Jersey Wawa  Associates will be wearing masks.

In-store signage will be supplemented with reminders through Wawa’s in-store music and audio platform (Musak) thanking New Jersey residents for complying with the Governor’s executive order.

New Hours for High-Risk Groups

In addition, Wawa is designated an hour each day to accommodate groups that are in high-risk categories as defined by the CDC. Every day, all New Jersey Wawa stores will designate the hour from 2-3 p.m. to accommodate those high-risk individuals and respectfully ask all others to respect this time set aside for these groups.

Wawa has instituted these measures immediately in support of New Jersey Governor’s recommendations to increase social distancing in New Jersey.

Moving forward, all New Jersey Wawa stores will have:

• Announcements about and enforcement of the designated hours for the high-risk group shopping timeframe

• Door signage with details on mask requirements and new hours for high-risk groups

• In-store audio (Musak) messaging sharing announcements on mask requirements and new hours for highrisk groups

Wawa remains committed to delivering our purpose of fulfilling lives every day, while continuing to monitor and make adjustments as needed.
