Eddie’s of Roland Park is celebrating 75 years as a family owned, independent grocer in downtown Baltimore, MD. Founded in 1944 by the late Victor Cohen as a pioneering neighborhood market, Eddie’s of Roland Park today includes two locations (at 5113 Roland Avenue and 6213 North Charles Street) specializing in premium groceries, catering, and customer service, led by second and third generation family members Nancy Cohen, Michael Schaffer (both featured in the photo) and Andrew Schaffer.

To ring in this monumental milestone, the retailer is offering weekly office lunch sweepstakes, a series of unique summer events, and a fall collaboration with the Jewish Museum of Maryland and Enoch Pratt Free Library, in addition to year-round in-store tastings.

“My sons and I are beyond grateful and proud to be celebrating 75 years of service in Baltimore,” said CEO Nancy Cohen. “It is thanks to the partnership of our employees, vendors, customers and community that the business my father founded has continued to succeed and flourish to this day.”

The summer events include a dog-friendly sidewalk soirée benefiting BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter), a “Tastes of the Bay” party showcasing Chesapeake-inspired fare and outdoor movie nights presenting “Wallace and Grommit” and “Jaws” as the feature films.

“Events like these provide an opportunity for our team to deepen its connection with the community, and everyone is invited,” explained vice president Michael Schaffer. “We look forward to sharing food and fun with the friends, family—and even furry fans—of Eddie’s of Roland Park.”
