Earlier this month Rite Aid unveiled its new headquarters in Philadelphia’s Navy Yard district. The Rite Aid Collaboration Center, located on the second floor of 1200 Intrepid Avenue, was designed to bring Rite Aid’s remote corporate workforce and associates together in a modern space with state-of-the-art amenities. Most of the company’s administrative staff still work remotely.

With the opening of its new office, the 205,000 square foot former headquarters in Camp Hill, PA will remain open and serve as a collaboration “hub.”

The new headquarters provides Rite Aid associates in all aspects of its businesses – including Rite Aid retail pharmacy, Elixir, Health Dialog and Bartell Drugs – space to meet, collaborate, engage clients and partners, and cultivate the kind of professional relationships that serve as the bedrock for successful remote teams.

“This new collaboration space represents how we are modernizing our brand from the inside out,” said Rite Aid president and CEO Heyward Donigan. “We are not only transforming our business to better serve our customers, but we are embracing new ways of working that blend a remote-first corporate workforce with opportunities for in-person collaboration.

“We are proud to join the Philadelphia community and continue our rich history in Pennsylvania as we work to improve health outcomes for our customers and communities,” Donigan added.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and community leaders joined Rite Aid for the official opening and ribbon cutting.

The 23,000 square-foot Collaboration Center designed by Wynnewood, PA-based Meyer Design features a variety of conference room styles equipped with digital Neat Boards for video conferencing, a digital/video studio, Genius Bar to support IT needs, and associate amenities including a catering kitchen, multiple food and beverage stations, a business center and a respite room for nursing, prayer and meditation. Rite Aid has entered into a long-term lease with Ensemble Real Estate Solutions for the space which can accommodate up to 300 Rite Aid associates.

Rite Aid was founded by Alex Grass with a single drug store – Thrif D – in Scranton, PA in 1962. Currently, Rite Aid ranks as the third largest drug chain in the U.S. with 2,350 stores across 17 states, including 223 in Philadelphia and its surrounding area, and a workforce of more than 50,000 associates.
