Francis L. “Skip” Genuardi, 73, of Norristown, passed away peacefully August 4 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 29, 1948, in Norristown, he was a son of the late Frank O. Genuardi and Valie Genuardi, and the loving husband to Catharine Genuardi.
He worked for many years for his family business at Genuardi Family Markets, first in non-foods, and later in the real estate division. He was also one of the founding members of the Genuardi Family Foundation which has made numerous contributions to charities throughout Norristown and surrounding communities. He was also vice chairman and chairman emeritus for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.
In his spare time, Genuardi enjoyed golfing with his wife and good friends whenever he had the opportunity, traveling to his home in Florida, and spending time with his family. Skip was a loving husband, father, brother, and a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be missed by many.
In addition to his wife, Skip is survived by his three loving children, Frank (Amy) Genuardi, Justin Genuardi, and Nicole (Arshan) Gailus; one brother, Laurence (Maryann) Genuardi; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
