Brookshire Grocery Company has named Jerry LeClair chief executive officer, removing the interim title he has held since February.
The Tyler, Texas-based grocer said Monday that LeClair’s appointment is effective immediately. He has served as interim CEO while continuing to oversee the company’s retail operations, category management, marketing, fuel, pharmacy, logistics and facility services teams.
LeClair joined Brookshire Grocery in 2019 as executive vice president and chief merchant officer and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2025. He has more than 40 years of grocery industry experience.
Before joining Brookshire, LeClair held executive leadership positions with Giant Eagle and Harris Teeter. He began his grocery career at Albertsons as a courtesy clerk and eventually rose to district manager. He is a graduate of Wingate University in North Carolina.

Brookshire Grocery is a family-owned regional grocer operating more than 215 stores in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The company operates three distribution centers and employs more than 16,000 people. Founded in 1928, its banners include Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Fresh by Brookshire’s, Spring Market, Reasor’s and Fresh by Reasor’s.
