The Mid Atlantic Food Trade Organization (MAFTO) recently awarded its 2022 scholarships to recipients selected by the organization’s scholarships committee based on academic success, overall excellence of character, and potential for community contributions and leadership. Each of this year’s 12 chosen students will receive a $5,000 scholarship.

Ellie Weaver is currently in her sophomore year at West Chester University majoring in communication sciences and disorders and minoring in autism education. She plans to attend graduate school to study speech pathology. After graduation she hopes to work in a school setting as a speech teacher.

Grant Lorelli is a current sophomore at Juniata College. He is a biology major and achieved a 4.0 his freshman year. Lorelli is also a member of the Juniata College men’s volleyball team and achieved CVC Academic All-American his first year. After completing his undergraduate studies, he is planning on attending medical school.

Isabella Musgrove is a sophomore attending Millersville University majoring in biology and concentrating in animal behavior. She is on the cross-country and track and field team at Millersville. After college she plans on finding a job in wildlife biology.

Julia Thack is a current senior at Syracuse University. She is majoring in communications design and is part of the fashion and beauty milestone program within the Newhouse School of Communications. After graduation and beyond, Thack hopes to be working in New York City being a creative director for a fashion or branding company.

Luke Maganas is a senior at Pennsylvania State University currently majoring in finance. He plans to begin his professional career in the asset management industry. He also has a passion for real estate and is pursuing a real estate analysis and development certificate at school as well.

Maria McNicholas is currently in her second year at Drexel University studying civil engineering. At Drexel University she is involved with The Society of Women Engineers, The American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Drexel Newman Catholic Community.

Matt Szczepanowski is a junior at UMASS Amherst where he majors in legal studies and is planning to attend law school after graduation. He is a brother of Phi Sigma Kappa and is currently the sports chair, assistant philanthropy chair and is a member of the rush committee for the fraternity.

Meghan Kilpatrick is a sophomore advertising major at Temple University. At Temple, she writes for Her Campus magazine and helps run the Klein College communication studies instagram page. She plans to pursue a career in advertising after graduation, specifically in copywriting or media planning, or teaching.

Paige Kostick attends Towson University in the state of Maryland. There she is majoring in psychology while also being enrolled into Towson’s Honors College. In addition to academics, Kostick also competes on Towson’s softball team and volunteers in the local community. After her undergraduate studies, she plans on obtaining her master’s degree or attending medical school.

Ryan Brauer just began his third year at Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL where he is majoring in marketing and minoring in strategic communication. When Brauer is not at school or work, he is doing something outdoors. After he graduates college he is hoping to pursue a career in marketing.

Sydney Mowery is currently a second year student at Penn State University. She is in the College of Engineering where she plans on majoring in civil engineering. She is looking forward to a future career in construction management.

Tyler Cicero is a junior at the College of Business at James Madison University seeking his bachelor’s degree in finance. He is heavily involved at JMU, participating in the Professional Sales Club and being selected by administration to represent the College of Business at a Finance Career Trek in NYC in 2022. Cicero is eager to pursue a career in investments and finance at a well-respected institution upon graduation.
