Wakefern has announced that ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. (SRS) will acquire three stores in Pennsylvania: 330 Oregon Avenue in Philadelphia owned by the Colligas family; 11000 Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia owned by the McMenamin family; and the West Chester location owned by the Miller family.
SRS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wakefern that currently owns and operates 32 stores in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The acquisitions are scheduled to close in January.
Maureen Gillespie, corporate communications lead at Wakefern said, “SRS is excited to welcome these three locations and continue the tradition of exceptional service established by the Colligas, Miller and McMenamin families. We thank all three families for their years of dedication and service to the community.” She added, “Although the Colligas and Miller families are leaving the business, McMenamin Family ShopRite will continue to operate its ShopRite of Morrell Plaza in Philadelphia and ShopRite of Hatfield in Hatfield, PA.” The McMenamin family recently purchased the Hatfield store from the Miller Family and their company, KTM Supermarkets.
